Sophomore Kayli Kvistad has been named as to the 2016 Academic All-District team.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Kayli Kvistad has been named as to the 2016 Academic All-District team, announced on Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The Lake City, Fla. native is a communication sciences & disorders major and carries a 3.65 grade point average.
A season ago, Kvistad was named an NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete.
On the field this year, she's batting a team-leading .407 (50-for-123) with a team-best 11 home runs, 57 runs batted in, and a .522 on-base percentage. In fact, Kvistad's OBP is challenging Bailey Castro's Florida record, .536, which she set last season.
Kvistad has recorded a pair of multi-home run games and two contests with five-plus RBI this season as well. Her biggest home run of the year came with two outs in the top of the seventh inning and the score tied in UF's series opener at No. 3 Auburn, when she smacked a go-ahead three-run home run to help secure the Gators' victory.
Kvistad and the No. 1-ranked Gators finish their regular season this weekend against Arkansas at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville. Friday and Sunday's games can be seen on SEC Network+, while Saturday's contest will be broadcast on SEC Network. All three games can be heard on Florida Sports Talk (WGGG-AM & WMOP-AM/FM).

Florida's magic number to clinch its sixth SEC Championship is two. Additionally, the UF softball team will celebrate its seniors on Saturday prior to the 1 p.m. start time.
