An accident when he was seven didn't stop Solaeche-Gomez from battling through surgeries to make his first Olympic appearance for Spain in Rio.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- An accident when he was seven left Gator Great swimmer Eduardo Solaeche-Gomez blind for two years. Doctors advised against swimming. Solaeche-Gomez will make his Olympic debut in Rio for Spain.
"Life is about overcoming problems, getting better and improving. You can always make excuses…this taught me to be stronger in more ways than physically."
