Florida's gymnastics class has ranked among nation's top two in seven of last eight seasons.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida's four member freshman class is No. 2 on CollegeGymFans.com's annual rankings of the gymnastics recruiting classes. In the last eight seasons, Florida's classes ranked No. 1 five times and No. 2 twice.
Three of the freshmen took part in their nation's Olympic Trials last summer. Amelia Hundley and Rachel Gowey both took part in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing ninth and 11th, respectively. The U.S. Senior National Team members also teamed up to help the U.S. win the 2015 Pan America Games team title.
Maegan Chant competed in the 2016 Canadian Olympic National Selection camp, taking ninth after day 2 competition. She represented Canada in 2013 and 2014 World Championships' competition and at the 2014 Pan Am Games.
Freshman Sierra Alexander was runner-up in the 2016 and 2015 Florida Level 10 vault competition.
Season Starts Sunday
No. 5 Florida starts the 2017 season Sunday with a road meet at North Carolina State. The meet will be held in NC State's Reynolds Coliseum at 2 p.m. and a live stream of the meet will be available on ACC Network Extra/ESPN3.
Florida then returns to open the 2017 home season in the newly renovated Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center with a Friday, Jan. 13 meet versus No. 21 Kentucky. Meet time is set for 6:45 p.m. ET and the first 7,000 fans receive orange light-up bracelets.

- Reserved seating plans begin in 2017, allowing fans to pick the seat they want to watch all the high-flying action for each of Florida's five regular-season home dates. Single meet reserved tickets are also available.
- General admission is still available for all regular-season meets. Youth 12 and under continue to receive complimentary general admission for each of the five home meets.
- Reserved parking passes for the O'Connell Center lot are available for purchase for all season ticket holders.
