Florida and Florida State meet on the gridiron on Saturday at noon.
UF plays host to FSU on the football field on Saturday at 12 p.m. on ESPN.
Since its inception in 1958, the Florida-Florida State series has etched itself into sports lore as one of the most prominent rivalries in college football history. In this rivalry of sustained runs, Florida boasts a 34-25-2 all-time record against the Seminoles, along with a 20-11-1 mark in Gainesville.
Saturday marks the first time since 2011 that both teams enter the game unranked. Overall, it is the seventh time since 1966 that both teams are unranked and second since 1987.
Since 2015, both schools have an almost identical regular-season record. During that span, FSU is 23-11
(.676) and UF is 22-11 (.666).
Florida and Florida State's partnership with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services reminds fans of the impact the agriculture industry has on Florida's economy and encourages fans to support Florida's farmers and fishermen by asking for Fresh From Florida products when they shop or dine out.
In addition to messaging around Sunshine Showdown match-ups, a dedicated website, SunshineShowdown.com, keeps fans informed of recent Sunshine Showdown results, upcoming contests and recipes and information about Fresh From Florida.
Beyond Saturday's football game, these two rivals square off each season in soccer, volleyball, swimming & diving, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's tennis, softball and baseball. Both institutions recognize the significance of the intense rivalry, as well as the strength of the joint platform.
"Many of our Gator fans and boosters are leaders in the Florida Agricultural community," UF Athletic Director Scott Stricklin said. "Reminding our fans of the impact of buying local products and supporting this significant state industry through our great rivalry is a natural fit."
"Fresh From Florida's sponsorship of the Sunshine Showdown has been a perfect fit," Florida State University Vice President and Director of Athletics Stan Wilcox said. "While competition between Florida State and Florida always brings out the best in both schools, the significance of the Sunshine Showdown continues to grow."
