Coach Randy Shannon announced that several Gators are day-to-day heading into Saturday’s finale against FSU.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida's depth chart remains very similar as the Gators prepare for their 2017 regular season finale against in-state rival Florida State on Saturday.
Coach Randy Shannon announced during his Monday press conference that several Gators, including Jachai Polite, Kadarius Toney and Malik Zaire are day-to-day with various injuries heading into this historic rivalry.
Redshirt freshman Stone Forsythe is likely to make his second consecutive start at the right tackle position, with Jawaan Taylor and Martez Ivey moving to left tackle and left guard, respectively. Tyler Jordan will once again start at center with Fred Johnson continuing to man the right guard position.
Feleipe Franks will remain as UF's starting quarterback Saturday, after throwing for two touchdowns and 152 yards against UAB.
Look for athletes Dre Massey or Kadarius Toney to serve as Franks' backup against FSU if Malik Zaire is still unable to play.
Florida will continue rely on sophomore Lamical Perine, redshirt senior Mark Thompson and rookie Adarius Lemons to carry the load in the backfield.
UF's linebacker corps received a boost, as redshirt sophomore Kylan Johnson returned from injury against UAB and recorded two tackles.
In the defensive backfield, an injury to Jeawon Taylor will give a starting nod to one of two true freshman: Donovan Stiner or Shawn Davis.
On the special teams front, look for Freddie Swain, Dre Massey and Chauncey Gardner to get opportunities as punt returners along with Adarius Lemons returning kicks.
