Gators Cap Two-Game Homestand Thursday vs. Arkansas

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida caps its mini two-game home stand at Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center on Thur., February 9, when the Gators play host to Arkansas at 7 p.m.
 
The game will not be televised, but the action can be seen online through SEC Network +.
 
No Place for the Weak this Week
  • Florida plays three games in seven days this week.
  • The Gators opened the seven-day span with a home loss to Ole Miss on Monday, Feb. 6.
  • Florida will hit the road after Thursday's game and play at Alabama on Sunday.
 
Florida vs. Arkansas: The Series
  • 34-Game Series: UF leads 25-9 (UF Home: 11-3; Away: 10-5; Neutral: 4-1)
  • Last Meeting: Florida won 71-66 in overtime on Jan. 28, 2016 in Bud Walton Arena.
  • Trend: Eight of the last 11 games in the series have been decided by single digits.
  • Florida has won the last two games against Arkansas, as well as four straight at home.
  • The Razorbacks last win in Gainesville was a 83-74 decision on Feb. 19, 2009.

Halfway to Greenville
  • Florida wrapped up the first half of its 16-game SEC slate with a road win at Vanderbilt (Jan. 29) and a 2-6 record.
  • The Gators are 0-2 in the second half of the league schedule entering Thursday's game against Arkansas.
  • Including Thursday's game against the Razorbacks, Florida's remaining schedule includes three home games (Arkansas, Missouri and Georgia) and three on the road (Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee).
 
What's Next for the Gators
  • UF caps its hectic three-game week with a trip to Tuscaloosa, where the Gators play Alabama on Sun., February 12 at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT.
  • The Tide have returned to play at home games this year at Coleman Coliseum.
  • The game will be televised live on SEC Network with Roy Philpott and Brooke Weisbrod.

  • Ronni Williams - the lone four-year senior on the roster - led UF in scoring as a sophomore and junior and is doing so again this season.
  • In addition to leading the Gators in scoring with 19.0 points per game (20.5 ppg in SEC games), Williams also leads the squad in rebounding (7.7 pg) and free throw percentage (75/0%) and is second for assists (58) and field goal percentage (55.8%).
  • with her 43-point, 14-rebound effort against Vanderbilt (Jan. 29), she became the first SEC player to drop 40 and 10 since in a game since the 2003 season!
  • Williams became the 24th Gator to score 1,000 career points, doing so on Dec. 3 vs. Long Beach State.
  • She became the 15th Gator to collect 700 career rebounds, eclipsing the mark on January 5 at LSU.

  • Ronni Williams continued her sensational senior season, leading Florida with 21 points – her 11th game this year with 20 or more points in a game, but it wasn't enough for the Gators, who have dropped four of their five Southeastern Conference home games by nine points or less.
  • Ole Miss used a 12-0 run early in the second quarter to flip a 22-19 Gator lead into 31-22 Rebel advantage. UM sank three triples during the spree, while Florida turned the ball over twice.
