
Cancelled: Weather Shuts Down Series Finale Between Gators and Tigers

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The final game of the SEC Opening Weekend series between the No. 3-ranked University of Florida softball team and No. 24-ranked Missouri has been cancelled due to heavy rain in the area for the remainder of the evening Monday, March 13 at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
The game will not be rescheduled per conference guidelines.
The Gators (22-1, 2-0 SEC) clinched the series over the Tigers (11-10, 0-2 SEC) Sunday, March 12, with a 1-0 victory behind a complete-game performance from sophomore pitcher Kelly Barnhill (9-0). Barnhill struck out 12 and scattered three hits over seven innings while only issuing one free pass.
Florida won the initial game of the series Saturday, March 11, 6-0 via complete-game one-hitter by senior Delanie Gourley (9-1).
The Gators will return to action at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Wednesday, March 15, at 6 p.m. against North Dakota State.
