Grant Holloway makes his second straight appearance, while KeAndre Bates becomes the 13th Gator to appear on the list
NEW ORLEANS – Florida jumper KeAndre Bates as well as hurdler, jumper, and sprinter Grant Holloway were named to the pre-NCAA Indoor Championships edition of The Bowerman Men's Watch List, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Thursday (March 2).
The Bowerman Award is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female collegiate track and field athletes in the nation. It is the sport's equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. A list of 10 semifinalists will be revealed after June's NCAA Outdoor Championships, followed by the announcement of three finalists roughly two weeks later.
Bates is the 13th man in school history to appear on The Bowerman Watch List. Only Texas A&M (10) can claim more than six. Bates' and Holloway's appearances are the 80th and 81st in history by Gators. Only Oregon (52) has more than 34 total appearances.
Here is a look at what elevated Bates onto the list after merely receiving votes in February:

The Gators, whose men lead the nation with seven NCAA Indoor Championships entries ranked in the top three, will enter next week's national meet as one of the favorites to win the team title.
