
Gourley Awarded Second SEC Weekly Honor

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior left-handed pitcher Delanie Gourley picked up her second Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week award of the season after going 2-0 in the circle against South Carolina in Florida's first SEC road series of 2017.
The Lakeside, Calif. native allowed only a pair of hits over 11 innings of work during the week. In game one of the series, Gourley struck out nine Gamecocks and scattered the only two hits allowed by her over the weekend. She then followed up with four innings of no-hit work in the circle in the series finale.
Junior Aleshia Ocasio capped off the final frame of the game for the program's fifth combined no-hitter. The last Gator duo to achieve the feat was Stephanie Brombacher and Erin Schuppert May 8, 2010 in a 20-0 victory in five innings over South Carolina.
It was Gourley's first combined no-hitter and the fourth overall that she has been a part of during her career at Florida. She has also has either started (7) or made an appearance (2) in nine of the Gators 18 shutouts of the season.
The Gators return to action for a solo midweek contest against USF Wednesday, March 22 at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium at 6 p.m.
