Sam Horsfield Turning Pro

The sophomore put together two remarkable seasons for the Gators.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sam Horsfield announced today that he is forgoing the final two years of his eligibility to turn professional.

The sophomore put together a remarkable two years with the Gators that included four individual victories and being the team leader in top-five finishes both years (2015-16: 8, 2016-17: 4).
 
On top of his success on the course, Horsfield racked up a bevy of awards:
 
  • 2016 PING First-Team All-American
  • 2016 PING All-Southeast Region Team
  • 2016 SEC Freshman of the Year
  • 2016 First Team All-SEC
  • 2016 SEC All-Freshman Team
  • Selected to Team Europe for the 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup
  • 2016 Ben Hogan Award Semifinalist
  • 2016 Jack Nicklaus Award Semifinalist
  • 2017 Second Team All-SEC
  • Two-Time SEC Men's Golfer of the Week (Feb. 10, 2016, April 5, 2017)
  • Three-time SEC Freshman Men's Golfer of the Week (Feb. 24, March 16 & April 6, 2016)
