Chronister, Hoover Named To SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Freshmen Katie Chronister and Jaimie Hoover were both named to the 2016-17 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll today by commissioner Greg Sankey.
This season the Gators (50-8, 20-3 SEC) captured their third-straight SEC Regular Season Championship, made their eighth trip in the Women's College World Series and fifth appearance in the WCWS title series.
Both Chronister and Hoover contributed to Florida's success during the 2017 season.

- Hurled a one-hit shutout against Delaware in her first career start for the Orange and Blue
- Finished the season with a 2-0 record in the circle and a 2.21 ERA over 19.0 innings pitched
- Picked up two saves in five relief appearances
- Appeared in 27 games and scored six runs along with one stolen base
- Led the Gators with two grand slams and was tied for the team lead with three triples
- Played in 61 games and received 56 starts at third base
- Finished the season with 38 RBI and 25 runs scored on 30 hits, 27 walks and 10 hit by pitches
- Was a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts
