GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Summer is officially over. As the calendar turns to August in Gainesville, everyone's attention turns to football.
Florida Gators football, to be specific.
UF student-athletes will report to fall camp on Wednesday with the start of preseason practice set for Thursday. The Gators will participate in UF Media Day on Wednesday afternoon.
UF Media Day Schedule
- Head coach Jim McElwain is set to open the festivities with a press conference scheduled at 2:30 p.m.
- More than 35 players are scheduled to speak to reporters from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.
- GatorVision's Mitch Gerber will be hosting a Preseason Show via Facebook Live where about 15 student-athletes will sit down with him.
- Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and defensive coordinator Randy Shannon are scheduled to speak to the media at 4:45 p.m.
Fans can watch McElwain, Nussmeier and Shannon's press conferences via a live stream on YouTube produced by GatorVision.

- First Practice:
- The Gators open preseason camp on Thursday, the first of 29 practice sessions allotted by the NCAA prior to the season opener.
- Fan Day:
- The event takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 19 in the indoor practice facility.
- Season Opener:
- The 2017 AdvoCare Classic kicks off the college football season with a marquee cross-sectional matchup between the Florida Gators and Michigan Wolverines, which will be played on Saturday, Sept. 2, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
