After Torres took the lead after the second round of the tournament, She stretched her lead to two strokes after 72 holes of play.
On the final day of competition at The Links Course at Casa de Campo, Torres, who was representing her native Puerto Rico, pulled away from the rest of the field. She was the only player in contention to score par or better as her final round score of 71 helped her finish eight-over-par for the week.
Her four round total of 292 strokes was seven stokes clear of the Dominican Republic's Yae Eun Kim who finished second.Â
Torres is not unfamiliar to being atop the leaderboard. During her senior season she won the SunTrust Gator Invitational and Briar's Creek in back-to-back weeks in mid-March while also tying with teammates Marta Perez and Carlotta Ricolfi for the Florida Challenge title in January.
Torres will receive her degree in Family, Youth and Community Sciences this Saturday at University of Florida's summer commencement.
