Florida’s sophomore wide receiver recorded the game-winning touchdown in last Saturday’s game against Tennessee.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland picked up the second weekly honor of his career, earning Honorable Mention Early Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week honors, as announced on Tuesday.
Cleveland led all Gators with 93 receiving yards in a 26-20 win over No. 23 Tennessee. He caught the game-winning 63-yard touchdown with time expiring and the reception was his longest of the game. The catch gave the Gators their first win of the 2017 season and put them at 1-0 in conference play.
Overall for the game, Cleveland caught a career-high five receptions from QB Feleipe Franks and finished the game averaging 18.6 yards per catch.
With the victory, the Gators won their 13th straight SEC opener and 28th straight home opener, the longest streak in the country.
