SEC Announces 2018 Preseason Coaches Poll

The Gators are scheduled to compete against Kentucky, Texas A&M, South Carolina and LSU at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium this season.
 
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida has been selected as the 2018 Southeastern Conference preseason favorite. The votes from the 13 SEC head coaches in the annual preseason poll were announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
 
The three-time defending SEC regular-season champions received 11 first-place votes, while Tennessee and Alabama each garnered one first-place vote.
 
In 2017, the Gators posted a 20-3 conference record on their way to capturing a league leading seventh title. Tennessee, Texas A&M, LSU and Alabama rounded out the top 5 in this year's poll.
 
Florida begins its' 2018 campaign at the USF Wilson-DeMarini Tournament in Tampa versus Illinois State (Feb. 9) with the first SEC series slated against Kentucky (Mar. 9-11) at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
 
The Gators will also host conference foes Texas A&M (Mar. 24-26), South Carolina (Apr. 13-15) and LSU (Apr. 27-29) this season.
 
Fans looking to purchase single game tickets will have the opportunity to do so starting Jan. 24 for season ticket holders, and will be available for purchase Jan. 31 to the general public. For more information, contact the Gator Ticket office.

The 2018 SEC Softball Tournament will take place May 9-12 at the Mizzou Softball Stadium in Columbia, Mo.
