TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida women's cross country team continued to show improvement as both teams notched top-10 finishes at the South Florida Invite Friday.

Redshirt sophomore Sophie Ebihara paced the women with a seventh-place finish and a personal record. She ran 18:56.2 in her first 5k of the season and propelled Florida's women to a fourth place team finish.

Maggie Parrish (15^th) and Abbie Harrelson (20^th) earned top-20 finishes and Autumn Bartlett (40^th) and Delaney Tiernan (57^th) rounded out the top five for the Gators.

On the men's side, senior Bryce Statham tabbed the only top-20 finish for the Gators with his 8k time of 27:45.2, good for 12^th place.

Blake Lowery crossed the finish line 37^th. Jack Rogers and Zach Purvis logged back-to-back finishes at 52 and 53 and Marshall Dillon was right behind at 59^th. The top-five performances from the Gators helped lead them to a sixth place team finish.

Half of the Gators squad will compete tomorrow at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Florida will compete at the SEC Championships in Auburn, Ala. in two weeks. Race day is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 26.
