
Kelly Fertel sets the fastest time by a Gator this season in the 200 IM.

AUSTIN, Texas – Kelly Fertel led the Gators on day one of the two-day tri-meet with Texas and Indiana, as she set the team's fastest time in the 200 IM. No. 19 Florida leads No. 6 Indiana 109-76 and trails No. 4 Texas 135-51, after the first day in Austin.
In the opening swim of the day, Emma Ball, Vanessa Pearl, Mabel Zavaros, and Bella Garofalo finished in fourth place with a combined time of 3:42.26 in the 400 Medley Relay.
In the 200 Free, Mabel Zavaros was back in the pool and swam the fastest time by a Gator this season. She swam 1:49.11 which is a new personal best.
Ball and Sydney Sell finished second and third in the 100 Back, respectively. Ball notched a time of 53.84, while Sell recorded a 55.17.
Kelly Fertel raced to a fourth-place finish in the 100 Breast with a mark of 1:02.42, which is a new personal-best time.
Mabel Zavaros added another podium finish as she placed third in the 200 Fly. Her time of 1:59.16 was an NCAA B cut. Hannah Burns added a fifth-place finish with a swim of 2:00.41.
Garofalo clocked a 23.16 in the 50 Free and placed third. Ball added a fifth-place finish with a swim of 23.41.
In the 1000 Free, Taylor Ault set a new season-best mark with a swim of 9:53.81 and placed second. Leah Braswell notched a time of 9:56.43 and finished on the podium in third.
Fertel clocked the fastest time by a Florida swimmer in the 200 IM with a mark of 1:59.52. Her time is also an NCAA B cut.
Garofalo, Ball, Kirschtine Balbuena and Fertel recorded Florida's fastest time in the 200 Free Relay this season. Their time of 1:33.34 earned them a second-place finish. With a combined time of 1:36.19, Mabel Zavaros, Tori Bindi, Georgia Marris, and Pearl finished in sixth place.
Brooke Madden placed third in the 1-meter with a cumulative score of 286.65. Emma Whitner placed fifth with 256.35 points.
