Gators Release Depth Chart for Vanderbilt Game
Monday, October 8, 2018 | Football
Florida’s depth chart is relatively unchanged after its win against LSU last weekend.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators released their depth chart on Monday for their final game before the bye week, as UF travels to Vanderbilt this weekend.
Florida is coming off its first win over a top-5 team since Oct. 3, 2015--when it beat No. 3 Ole Miss, 38-10. In addition, UF has won consecutive games against ranked opponents for the first time since 2012, when it beat No. 23 Tennessee (Sept. 15), No. 4 LSU (Oct. 6), and No. 9 South Carolina (Oct. 6).
Florida's pass rush has picked up in recent weeks, and the added pressure has the Gators ranked tied for
third nationally in total sacks (20.0) and tied for 11th in total tackles for loss (48.0) this season. In the last two games, Florida has 11 sacks and 19 TFLs.
Florida is also one of four FBS teams (East Carolina, Miami, Oklahoma State) featuring three players--Vosean
Joseph, Jachai Polite, Jabari Zuniga--with at least 6.5 tackles for loss this season. Adding in Chauncey Gardner-Johnson--who entered the year with 6.5 career tackles for loss--Florida has four players with at least six tackles for loss this year.
No SEC team has more than two such players.
From a roster standpoint, the only change is that C.J. McWilliams is now listed at outside corner with Trey Dean.
McWilliams recorded the first start of his career last weekend.
No injuries were sustained in the game, and Florida's defensive depth remains the same with above change.
