GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Seeing Gator student-athletes receive their degree is a primary goal for UF Athletics. Today's latest release from the NCAA shows the University of Florida continues its success in helping student-athletes reach that achievement.
The Graduation Success Rates (GSR) published on Wednesday show that 85 percent of UF student-athletes completed their degree in the latest cycle. The NCAA overall GSR for the 2018 cohort is an all-time high of 88 percent.
The GSR of seven Gator teams are above the national average for their sport – baseball, women's basketball, women's cross country/track & field, women's golf, lacrosse, soccer and softball. Four teams turned in a perfect 100 GSR: women's basketball, women's golf, lacrosse and soccer.
This fall, UF reached No. 8 in the rankings among public institutions on US News and World Reports annual list. The combined grade point average for all Gator student-athletes for the 2017-18 academic year was 3.13 and 117 student-athletes earned bachelor or master degrees in the last academic year.
Each year the NCAA releases the GSR of member schools. The latest release includes data for the 2008-09 to 2011-12 freshman cohorts.
