
Men’s Tennis Ranked No. 15 in Oracle ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Florida men's tennis team dropped four spots to No. 15 in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, announced by the national organization Wednesday.
There was a shakeup to the top 5 for the first time in over a month. Wake Forest retained the No. 1 spot but Stanford jumped from five to two while Ohio State dropped to three. Entering the top 5 for the first time this season are UCLA and Texas A&M.
Florida has been ranked in the top 25 of the Oracle/ITA Rankings for 32 straight weeks and the top 20 for 30 straight weeks. This is the first round of computerized rankings.
The Gators are one of five SEC schools ranked in the top 25. Joining the Gators in the rankings are Texas A&M (No. 5), Georgia (No. 11), Ole Miss (No. 22) and Tennessee (No. 23).
For the second straight individual rankings the Gators were well represented with four athletes ranked in singles and five pairs ranked in doubles. Freshman Andy Andrade is making his ranking debut in singles with a ranking of 94th. In doubles, the duo of Alfredo Perez and Johannes Ingildsen are once again ranked No. 1 in the country. The pair had dropped to second two weeks ago.

Florida has this week off after competing in the ITA National Indoor Championships last week. The Gators will be back in action on March 2 when they begin SEC play by hosting No. 11 Georgia at 6 p.m. at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
