
Chiozza named to Bob Cousy Award Top Ten

Finalists to be announced in March
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Chris Chiozza has been selected to the Bob Cousy Award top ten list as announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Monday.
Named after Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic and Holy Cross guard Bob Cousy, the annual honor now in its fifteenth year recognizes the top point guards in Division I men's college basketball.
Chiozza currently tops the SEC in both assist to turnover ratio (3.48 assist/turnover) and assists per game (6.0 assists) and while nationally ranking sixth and 18th, respectively. The Gator point guard also ranks second in the conference in steals per game (1.96 steals) and third in free throw percentage (88.1 percent).
He has also climbed into the top 10 of the Florida all-time assist and steals lists this season. Currently, he ranks fourth all-time in assists with 502 and seventh in steals with 171 in his career.
In March, five finalists will be presented to the selection committee for the 2018 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. The winner will be honored at ESPN's College Basketball Awards in Los Angeles on Friday, April 6, 2018.
