BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida's Victoria Emma was named the Southeastern Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week, the league announced today.

The rookie from Naples, Florida, posted a combined singles and doubles record of 4-0 last week that helped Florida extended it win streak to four.
One of the wins was on the road against No. 7 Ole Miss and the Gators won a 4-3 nail bitter during which Emma and her doubles partner provided the thrilling 6-4 upset victory against the nation's No. 10-ranked team that clinched the doubles point that proved to be crucial.
Emma's singles win against the Rebels was a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6 (5) victory that gave Florida a 3-1 lead in the team scoring, as the Gators would go on to win, 4-3.
Two days later, Emma was again involved in an important doubles win, as the Gators pair captured this first victory before MSU won the next.
Emma then made quick work of #112-ranked Magda Adaloglou on the singles court and her 6-3, 6-3 win was the second of the dual match that gave UF a 3-0 lead.

- The No. 22-ranked Gators play host to LSU (10-2, 1-1 SEC) on Friday, March 9, at the Ring Tennis Complex, where first serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
- Friday's match will be Florida's first at home since January 28.
- Florida played its first two matches of the season at home before embarking on a nine-match road trip.
