Final Sunshine Showdown in Tallahassee

GAINESVILLE, Fla.--The Florida baseball team will travel to Tallahassee on Tuesday for a midweek matchup against 10th-ranked Florida State at 6 p.m. It is the final meeting in the 2018 Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown.

The Gators enter the matchup having won 12 of the last 13 meetings between the two schools. Florida is looking to sweep the season series for the second year in a row.

SERIES HISTORY

Florida has won 12 of the last 13 meetings against Florida State, including seven in a row -- the Gators' longest win streak ever over the Seminoles. Head coach Kevin O'Sullivan is 24-16 against FSU.

Florida's offense had its best SEC weekend of the season at Tennessee, hitting .341 and scoring 32 runs. On the flip side, the pitching staff had a 5.19 ERA and allowed a season-high 15 walks in three games against the Vols.
Junior Jonathan India is currently on a 19-game hitting streak, the longest streak by a UF player in 11 seasons under O'Sullivan. On the season, he leads the SEC in batting average (.429), on-base percentage (.547) and slugging percentage (.886).
Junior Deacon Liput has a hit in 15 of the last 17 games and a current eight-game hitting streak. He went 8-for-16 (.500) at Tennessee with two homers and five RBI.
Freshman Jordan Butler has been the Gators' hottest pitcher of late. He has not allowed a run in his last six outings (10.1 IP) and has yet to allow a run out of the bullpen this season (14.1 IP).
