- This prestigious sportsmanship award takes into account a player's GPA, community service work and most importantly their conduct on the court itself.
- UF Coach Roland Thornqvist best explained Kuhlman's candidacy for award: "We take great pride in everything we do here with being a student-athlete. Josie is the poster-child, if you will, for that. She has a 4.0 GPA and is the first player in our program's history to earn our team's sportsmanship award every year and that says something. On the court and in the classroom, no one outworks Josie Kuhlman. She is as classy a player as you will ever watch and it's been a joy to have coached her the last four years."
