Thirteen of the 19 sports posted the same or better when compared to Florida's 2017 APR.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida athletics produced high marks again for all sports in the Academic Progress Rate (APR), announced Wednesday by the NCAA. All Gator teams scored above a 960 out of 1,000.
The APR for four Florida team were recognized last week as they ranked in the top 10 percent of their sport. The four – men's cross country, women's golf and both men's & women's tennis - all posted a perfect 1,000.
"This is continued good news for Gator athletics. Last weekend, Florida received its 12th consecutive SEC All-Sports Trophy," Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin said. "Today, the APR shows that Gator student-athletes are equally interested in academic success."
Thirteen of the 19 sports posted the same or better when compared to last year's APR, and 11 UF teams exceeded the sport's national average. Florida's football team's 977 is above the sport's national average of 964, while men's basketball's 990 also is far ahead of the sport's national average of 967.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success by tracking eligibility and progress toward graduation of each student-athlete on scholarship. The current report contains multi-year rates based on the four years from the 2013-14 academic year through the 2016-17 academic year.
To compete in 2018-19 postseason action, teams must achieve a 930 four-year APR in this report. This is the 14th year of the APR.
