
Florida Adds Four to Roster with Summer A Enrollees

Fourteen members of Florida’s signing class are now on Florida’s roster.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida's 2018 signing day class is starting to make its way to Gainesville, as the Gators have welcomed four student-athletes to campus for Summer A classes.
The Gators list of Summer A enrollees includes linebacker Andrew Chatfield, Jr. (Plantation/American Heritage), offensive linemen Richard Gouraige (Tampa/Cambridge Christian) and Griffin McDowell (Leesburg, Ga./Lee County), and David Reese (Fort Pierce/Vero Beach).
This quartet joins offensive linemen Noah Banks (Pensacola/Iowa Western College) and Chris Bleich (Hanover Township, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), running backs Iverson Clement (Mount Holly, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) and Dameon Pierce (Bainbridge, Ga./Bainbridge), wide receivers Van Jefferson (Brentwood, Tenn./Ole Miss) and Trevon Grimes (Fort Lauderdale/Ohio State), defensive back Trey Dean (Hampton, Ga../Dutchtown), athlete Amari Burney (Clearwater/Calvary Christian) and quarterback Emory Jones (LaGrange, Ga./Heard County) who all enrolled in January.
Both Jefferson and Grimes join the Gators by way of transferring from Ole Miss and Ohio State, respectively. Meanwhile, Banks is the lone junior college transfer of this class.
Jefferson and Banks have enrolled at the University of Florida as redshirt juniors with two years of eligibility remaining, while Grimes will enroll as a freshman with three years of eligibility left. Meet Florida's Summer A Enrollees

- Played three years of varsity football where the team went a combined 37-2 including undefeated State Championship runs his junior and senior seasons
- Finished his varsity career with 220 tackles, 41 sacks, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery

- Totaled 92 tackles, 25 tackles-for-loss, 14 sacks, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two defensive touchdowns as a senior

- Tallied 84 tackles, 27 tackles-for-loss and 21 sacks as a junior
- Participated at The Opening Finals All-Star camp
- Played for coach Pat Surtain
- Chose Florida over FSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Louisville
