
Gators Start Fall Schedule at Carpet Capital Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gators men's golf begins its fall season in Dalton, Ga. for the Carpet Capital Invitational.
The 30th annual event, hosted by Georgia Tech, is comprised of 15 teams from across the country.
The No. 8 Gators are joined at the tournament by seven other top 25 schools (No. 4 Auburn, No. 6 LSU, No. 7 Cal, No. 9 Georgia Tech, No. 11 Alabama, No. 14 Clemson, No. 19 North Florida). Fellow SEC schools South Carolina and Tennessee are in the field as well.
Last season, Florida finished fifth in the event with a three round total of 862 (-2). Individually, senior Alejandro Tosti took home the title with a score of 205 (-11), which was just two strokes off the leader and the tournament record of 203 set in 2003. Tosti was the first Gator in program history to win the Carpet Capital.
Freshmen Eugene Hong and Aden Ye are inserted into the Gator lineup by coach J.C. Deacon for the first time in their careers.
Course Information: The tournament is being played at the Par 72, 7,012 yards The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga. This is the 30th year the course has hosted the tournament.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds over three days. The first 18-holes will be played on Friday with the first team time scheduled for 8:00 a.m.
