Carter's Corner: Gators Still Without Jefferson, Others Available
Saturday, September 8, 2018 | Football, Scott Carter
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Six of the seven Gators suspended in the season-opening victory over Charleston Southern are available to play tonight against Kentucky.
Senior defensive lineman Cece Jefferson is the only player still suspended. Jefferson's absence is due to academic-related issues.
Meanwhile, sophomore receiver Kadarius Toney, sophomore defensive lineman Kyree Campbell, redshirt junior defensive lineman Luke Ancrum, sophomore cornerback Brian Edwards, sophomore running back Adarius Lemons and walk-on freshman James Washington are back in uniform. The players missed the season opener due to "not living up to the Gator Standard."
On the injury front, junior linebacker David Reese and safety Shawn Davis are the only players ruled out.
Tonight's game is on the SEC Network at 7:30.
