Martin to Transfer to Florida

Former Louisville Cardinal to join the Florida Gators for the 2019 season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida volleyball program signed transfer freshman Anaya Martin, as announced by head coach Mary Wise on Wednesday afternoon.
The former University of Louisville freshmen is currently enrolled at Florida. She joins transfer T'ara Ceasar as the newest additions to the Gator squad.

"Anaya – like so many other players in recent history – we first saw at camp. She came to Florida Volleyball Camp for two summers and that is where we first met her. She took a little bit of a different path, but now she is back at UF and we look forward to having a player of her athleticism, her skills and her commitment to the game."

- Saw action in 10 matches during her freshman season
- Recorded a career-high two service aces against Clemson
- Dished out four assists against Georgia Tech, a season-best performance
- 2017 First Team All-Region
- 2017 Senior All-Star
- Finished the 2017 season as a state semifinalist
- Nominated for the Positive Athlete award in 2017
- Chosen as captain of the squad during the 2017 season
- Led her team to the state final, where they finished runner-up
- 2016 First Team All-Region
- Woodward Academy High Honor Roll
- Woodward National Honor Society Member
- 2016-17 Blessing in a Backpack volunteer
- 2016-18 Member of Garden Club
- Taught Woodward Academy preschoolers volleyball
- Daughter of Eddie C. Martin Jr. and Angela Martin
- Has a twin sister, Ayana Martin, who attends Savannah College of Art and Design
- Uncle, Manny Martin, played for the Buffalo Bills
- Uncle, Anthony Grant, coached basketball at the University of Florida (assistant coach from 1996-2006)
- Sister, Autumn Martin, played volleyball at Northern Illinois University
- Brother, Anthony Martin, played golf at Virginia Union and Georgia Southern
- Played softball before picking up volleyball in 7th grade
