
Gators Storm Back in Round Two

The No. 6 Florida women's golf team shot an impressive 10 under in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate to climb nine spots on the leaderboard.
STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 6 Florida women's golf team climbed nine spots on the leaderboard and now sits in sixth place after carding an impressive 10-under 296 in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate on Saturday.
The Gators' 10 under was the lowest team score of the day, and puts them 10 strokes behind the leader, No. 16 Oregon, entering tomorrow's final round.
Clara Manzalini had a phenomenal day on the course, leading the Gators with a 5-under 66 performance. The sophomore was flawless through her first 12 holes of the day, and recorded just one bogey in the round. Her career-low outing puts her at 3 under overall and inside the top 10 at tied for sixth individually.
Elin Esborn carded an impressive six birdies through her second 18 holes to end the round at 3 under. Esborn is now 1 over overall and tied for 18th on the leaderboard.
Senior Marta Perez came alive during the second half of the round, carding a clean 3 under on the front nine to go into the clubhouse at 2 under on the day and 3 over overall.
Marina Escobar struggled to begin the day, but found her footing to close out the round, carding three birdies through her final five holes to finish at even par and round out the Gators' counting scores.
The final round of the event is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. ET with a shotgun start.
