GAINESVILLE, Fla.— Forty-four former Gators across 22 teams hit the field for week six of the NFL season.
Cornerbacks Quinton Dunbar and Janoris Jenkins both notched their third interception of the 2019-20 season during week 6.
In week 4, the tandem picked off two passes
and is now tied for second in the league with their three picks.
Dunbar helped the Washington Redskins record the week 6 win as he registered six tackles in addition to his interception. Dunbar now has recorded his season-high for interceptions, beating his previous best of two that he set last season.
The former Gator receiver tallied 1,500 yards and eight touchdowns over his collegiate career.
On Thursday night against the Patriots, Jenkins picked off a Tom Brady pass and returned it 62-yards in the first quarter.
Over his eight-year career, Jenkins has recorded 21 interceptions, with a season-best of four coming in his rookie season with the St. Louis Rams in 2012-13.
The Pahokee, Fla. native has recorded at least three picks in four of the last five years.
In his three years in Gainesville, Jenkins made 36 starts and totaled 121 tackles, eight interceptions and 25 pass breakups.
