
Lewis Named to Julius Erving Award Watch List

Five-star freshman Scottie Lewis is one of 20 candidates for the 2020 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Florida men's basketball freshman Scottie Lewis was named to the 2020 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award Watch List, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Wednesday.
The Julius Erving Award is in its sixth year and recognizes the top small forward in Division I men's basketball. Twenty talented student-athletes have been selected for the award's preseason watch list with the winner being announced at the College Basketball Awards in Los Angeles, Calif., on Friday, April 10.
Past winners of the award include Rui Hachimura, Gonzaga (2019), Mikal Bridges, Villanova (2018), Josh Hart, Villanova (2017), Denzel Valentine, Michigan State (2016) and Stanley Johnson, Arizona (2015).
Prior to Florida, Lewis was pegged as a top-10 recruit, earning McDonald All-American honors and a spot on the USA Nike Hoop Summit roster. The five-star newcomer averaged an impressive 17.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.5 blocks per game in his senior season at Ranney High School.
