
Gators Welcome Crimson Tide for SEC Matchup

Florida takes on Alabama on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 13th-ranked volleyball team is back in action on Friday evening as the team welcomes Alabama to Exactech Arena.
First serve is slated for 7 p.m. on the SEC Network + with Tom Collett and Missy Whittemore on the call.
Florida is ranked in the top-3 in three different categories in the SEC: hitting percentage (3rd, .266); opponent hitting efficiency (2nd, .170) and blocks per set (1st, 2.66).
Individually, Thayer Hall is ranked fifth in points per set (4.41), eighth in service aces per set (0.30) and sixth in kills per set (3.80).
Marlie Monserez sits fourth in the conference with 10.03 assists per set, while Allie Gregory is fourth in digs per set, averaging 4.23.
Lauren Dooley is ranked second in blocks per set, averaging 1.25 and Paige Hammons is also ranked sixth in service aces per set, registering 0.30 through the season thus far.
In conference play, the Gators are ranked first in blocks per set (2.81) and second in opponent hitting percentage (.174). Rachael Kramer is first in the league in hitting percentage (.383) and Lauren Dooley is second in blocks per set, averaging 1.42.
In the last meeting on Oct. 14, 2018, the Gators won the 3-0 decision in Gainesville, Fla. (25-21, 25-22, 25-16).
Holly Carlton paced the offense, finishing with nine kills. Taelor Kellum followed with seven, while Thayer Hall and Paige Hammons both chipped in six kills of their own.
Florida had six players hitting over .300 in the match – Marlie Monserez (1-0-1, 1.000), Taelor Kellum (7-0-12, .583), Mia Sokolowski (4-1-6, .500), Holly Carlton (9-1-17, .471), Rachael Kramer (5-1-10, .400) and Paige Hammons (6-2-13, .308).
Allie Monserez led the Gators in setting, dishing out 19 assists on the evening. Marlie Monserez added 10 of her own as well.
Allie Gregory controlled the backcourt defense for Florida, posting 12 digs during the match.
As a team, Florida recorded nine blocks – led by five from Rachael Kramer. Paige Hammons, Taelor Kellum and Holly Carlton all pitched in three apiece.
