In the first of two six-inning games, the Gators beat the Bulls 10-2 behind five RBI from senior
Kirby McMullen. In the second game, the two teams were tied at eight when the game ended after six innings.
On the day, Florida used 15 pitchers and put up seven scoreless frames in 12 innings. UF limited the Bulls to just three hits in the first six innings, but USF racked up eight runs on 10 hits in the second game.
At the plate, the Gators went 19-for-49 (.388) with four home runs and seven extra-base hits. Senior
Austin Langworthy and freshman Nathan Hickey each had three hits and a pair of RBI.Â
McMullen's five RBI came on two home runs in his first two at bats. Sophomore
Jud Fabian and senior
Nick Blasucci also hit home runs.Â
Jack Leftwich and
Nick Pogue each had a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless inning of work. Veterans
Tommy Mace and
Jordan Butler also pitched scoreless frames. Freshman left-hander Hunter Barco retired all three batters he faced while fellow newcomer Brandon Sproat also worked a scoreless inning.
Florida continues fall practices this week. The Gators will conclude fall ball with their annual Orange & Blue Series November 19-21.
