Greenard Named Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Walter Camp Football Foundation announced the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week presented by Generation UCAN on Sunday, as Jonathan Greenard was named the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in No. 11 Florida's 23-6 win over Missouri on Saturday (Nov. 16).
Greenard posted a team-high six tackles, including five tackles for a loss of 23 yards, and two sacks for a loss of 12 yards in Saturday's win over the Tigers to conclude the SEC slate. Greenard's five tackles for loss marked the most by a Gator in a game since 2000. The Hiram, Ga. native also added one quarterback hurry in the victory, as he led a Gators' defensive unit that held Missouri to just 256 total yards of offense. Additionally, the Gators' defense has held opposing teams from the end zone for two consecutive games now.
Greenard is the 10th Florida player to earn Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors since 2004.
The Gators return back to action on Saturday, Nov. 30, when they host Florida State at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
