TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Florida women's cross country standout Jessica Pascoe's admirable senior season came to an end on Saturday morning, as the senior capped the year off finishing 86th at the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships at the LaVern Gibson Championships Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. Pascoe concludes one of the most successful seasons in Florida cross country history garnering four individual titles, six top-10 finishes, and back-to-back All-SEC First Team and USTFCCCA All-South Region recognition on the year.
New Mexico's Weini Kelati nabbed the NCAA individual title, finishing in 19:47.5, while the Arkansas women (96 points) earned the NCAA team title, followed by BYU (102 points) and Stanford (123 points).
The LaVern Gibson Championships Cross Country Course featured chilly weather conditions of 35 degrees and light rain entering the women's 6k race Saturday morning. Pascoe would get off to a good start in the race, hanging within the top-40 runners early on through the 2k and 4k splits. As the race progressed through the last 2k, runners made their final pushes, seeing Pascoe place within the top-90 to cross the line in 86th-place (21:10.4) out of 252 of the nation's best collegiate runners.
