GAINESVILLE, Fla. – National Signing Day, a day unlike any other on the calendar, is here once again. Here at FloridaGators.com and NSD.FloridaGators.com we will provide all-day coverage of National Signing Day, sponsored by Regions, to keep you updated on Florida's class of newcomers.
In the two years since the hiring of head coach Dan Mullen, the Gators carry a 20-5 overall record, are set to make their second consecutive New Year's Six bowl appearance later this month at the Orange Bowl, and are in line to assemble back-to-back top-10 recruiting classes for the first time since putting together three in a row from 2012-14.
Florida posted consecutive 10-win campaigns for the first time since finishing with 13 wins in 2008 and 2009, and Mullen became the first head coach in Gators history to win at least 10 games each of his first two seasons. The Gators are also one of seven Power Five Conference teams with 10 wins each of the last two years.
Exciting days are ahead, with the program fresh off the announcement of the James W. "Bill" Heavener Football Training Center, which has generated plenty of excitement within Gator Nation and on the recruiting trail.
The future of the program will continue to take shape Wednesday, Dec. 18, as high school standouts submit their National Letters of Intent as part of college football's early National Signing Day.
Mullen has emphasized throughout his tenure that recruiting and development are the lifeblood of the program.
The NLIs will begin arriving in Florida's football offices this week, but three members of the 2020 class are already practicing with the Gators – quarterback Anthony Richardson (Gainesville, Fla. / Eastside), and offensive linemen Joshua Braun (Suwannee, Fla.) and Richie Leonard IV (Cocoa, Fla.).
