Last Friday, Trinity Thomas won three event titles at No. 9 Alabama. Today, she claims her fourth Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week award.

Trinity Thomas is the SEC Freshman of the Week

After three individual wins at No. 9 Alabama - including her third all-around title - Florida's Trinity Thomas is the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week. 
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After Florida gymnastics' rare win at No. 9 Alabama last Friday, something that is almost commonplace happened today. Florida's Trinity Thomas is the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced this morning.
 
Thomas' been honored in each of the league's last six SEC weekly awards lists. This is her fourth SEC Freshman of the Week award. The SEC Gymnast of the Week has twice gone to Thomas.
 
Thomas' All-Around Win:
  • Won three titles in Florida's win at No. 9 Alabama. The dual meet win was Florida's first in Tuscaloosa in 40 years.
  • Equaled her collegiate best of 9.90 to win her first collegiate vault title.
  • Matched her best of 9.975 for the second consecutive week to share the floor exercise title.
  • Claimed her second consecutive (and third overall) all-around title at 39.525
  • One of two Gator freshmen to earn four nearly-perfect 9.975s (the other was Bridget Sloan in 2013).
  • Ranked No. 3 in the nation on floor, No. 4 for bars, No. 6 in all-around and No. 10 in balance beam
  • Leads Florida in 2019 with 12 event titles.

Florida continues top-10 action when it plays host to No. 7 Georgia on Friday, Feb. 22. Meet time is 6:45 p.m. in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
 
The GymDogs are coming off a home win over No. 13 Kentucky. The reigning SEC Specialist Gymnast of the Week – Sabrina Vega – will be with the GymDogs.

  • It is Gator Alumna Night and many past Florida gymnasts will be back in the Exactech Arena.
  • The first 3,000 get a free Gators Gymnastics wristband.

It's a busy campus Friday evening, as No. 3 Florida baseball plays host to in-state rival Miami at 6:30 p.m. Make your trip to the Exactech Arena as smooth as a Gator floor routine. Here's some tips to expedite your trip:
  • Season parking holders can enter the O'Connell Center lot off Lemerand Drive OR SW 2nd Avenue.
  • Public parking is available in the O'Connell Center parking garage on first-come basis. Those wishing to park in the garage must enter lot off SW 2nd Avenue.
  • Public parking is also available in the north end of Percy Beard Track (enter off SW 2nd Avenue), tennis stadium lot or fraternity row.
  • A complimentary parking bus transports fans from Commuter Lot Garage IX to the O'Connell Center. For more information, visit FloridaGators.com.
