GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior pitcher
Kelly Barnhill earned her third-consecutive Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week honor after she picked up three wins last week. The accolade is Barnhill's 12
th of her career and she is now just four shy of tying Tennessee star Monica Abbott's record of 16 SEC Pitcher of the Week Awards.
Barnhill (9-0) picked up a decision in all three of her appearances over the week. The Marietta, Ga. struck out 10 through 5.0 innings of work against Illinois State Friday evening to open the Bubly Invitational, then followed up with a complete-game shutout of Syracuse Saturday and threw another 4.2 innings against the 'Cuse on Sunday to close out the weekend.
The right-hander struck out 22 batters over just 15.2 innings of work, extended her scoreless inning streak to a season-high 23.1 innings and limited the opposition to just a .148 batting average.
