
Trio of Gators Earn AAC Weekly Nods

Hicklen, Kavanagh and Ronbeck all named as AAC Players of the Week
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After putting up very strong performances against Elon and High Point last week, three Gators were rewarded with AAC Player of the Week accolades, as the league announced Tuesday.
Senior Lindsey Ronbeck was tabbed as Attacker of the Week, sophomore Shannon Kavanagh was named Midfielder of the Week and senior Haley Hicklen earned Defensive Player of the Week Honors.
Ronbeck had a stellar week offensively, leading the team with seven goals over the course of the two games. She posted five goals against High Point, including the game-tying goal with less than four minutes remaining.
Her five-goal performance was the fifth time this season that she has recorded a hat trick or better. The Manhasset, N.Y. native current sits at 180 career goals, looking to become just the third Gator to reach the 200-goal mark.
Ronbeck also recorded 10 draw controls against High Point, not just a career-best mark for her, but also the fifth-best total in program history.
The senior currently leads the conference and sits fifth in the nation in goals per game (4.33).
Kavanagh also put up a very strong performance in the state of North Carolina, tallying seven points on six goals and one assist.
The Smithtown, N.Y. native notched five goals against High Point, including the game-winning goal with just over three minutes to play. The five goals tied Kavanagh's career-best.
Kavanagh posted seven draw controls, five groundballs and three caused turnovers over the course of the week to help secure two victories for the Gators.
The sophomore currently sits third in the conference in goals per game (2.83) and fourth in the league in points per game (3.33).
Hicklen picked up two wins the cage last week, collecting a total of 18 saves. Her 11 saves against High Point marked the third game this season where she has recorded at least 10 saves.
The Baltimore, Md. native registered a .459 saves percentage against Elon, allowing a season-low four goals.
The senior notched a season-high five groundballs against High Point, putting her at 152 in her career – tied for the most in program history.
The Gators are back at Donald R. Dizney Stadium for the first time in a month to take on No. 4 Syracuse on Wednesday. Opening draw is set for 7 p.m.
