BATON ROUGE. – No. 7 Florida dropped a 3-2 decision to No. 9 LSU in the series finale Monday night at Tiger Park.
The Gators (24-6, 2-4 SEC) started the game with a two-run blast by
Kendyl Lindaman in the top of the first inning off of the Tigers (24-6, 4-2 SEC) starter Shelby Wickersham (8-1).
Amanda Lorenz set the table for Lindaman with a leadoff double off the wall in left center field.
Right-handed pitcher
Kelly Barnhill (15-3) and the Gators defense held LSU to just three hits through the first six innings of play but a pair of back-to-back base hits pushed the Tigers past the Orange and Blue in the final frame of the game.
Offensively,
Jade Caraway went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Lindaman, Lorenz and
Jordan Roberts each picked up a hit apiece in the effort.

Notable Notes
- Lindaman belted her fifth home run of the year with a two-run shot to left center field.
- It was her second of the series against LSU.
- Barnhill picked up six strikeouts in the effort and is now only six strikeouts shy from having 1,000 career strikeouts.
