Â
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 6 Florida welcomes USF to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium Wednesday at 7 p.m. (ET) to start We Chomp Weekend on campus.
Â
The Gators (32-9) enter tomorrow's game against the Bulls (29-14) after a sweep of SEC foe Arkansas over the weekend at home. In non-conference action UF is 26-3 and has already defeated USF earlier this season at the USF Opening Weekend Invitational.
Â
Florida took down the Bulls, 7-1, with the help of a trio of home runs from
Jaimie Hoover,
Hannah Adams and
Danielle Romanello.
Kelly Barnhill picked up the win in the circle with five innings of work, while
Elizabeth Hightower chipped in two scoreless innings.
Â
Wednesday's game is available on the SEC Network with Eric Frede and Madison Shipman as host for the network broadcast. Fans can also listen to the game on WGGG (92.1 FM/1230 AM) & WMOP (100.1 FM/900 AM) as Kyle Crooks and Ryan Urquhart have the call.

Notable Notes
- Freshman Elizabeth Hightower was named SEC Freshman of the Week. The right-handed pitcher hurled a complete-game shutout against the nationally ranked Razorbacks, which made her only the second freshman pitcher to achieve the feat in SEC play, so far this season. She finished the game with six strikeouts and allowed only three hits and two walks. She's also the first UF freshman pitcher to achieve the feat since Kelly Barnhill against No. 2 Michigan Feb. 13, 2016.
- The Gators hold a 12-9 record against top-25 competition this season and currently lead the nation with those 12 wins.
- Barnhill ranks third in the nation in total strikeouts with 218 so far on the year. The Marietta, Ga. native ranks second in UF history with 1,068 career strikeouts and is fast approaching the record of 1,116 that Stacey Nelson set during her career from 2006-'09.
- Kelly Barnhill and Amanda Lorenz were recently named as Senior CLASS Award top-10 finalists. It's the first time in program history that two Gators made the top-10 in the same season and it's only the third time in the awards history. Fans can vote for Barnhill and Lorenz daily HERE.
