Four Gators Earn ILWomen Media All-America Honors

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Four members of the Florida lacrosse team racked up more postseason honors as the ILWomen Media All-Americans were announced on Tuesday evening.

Cara Trombetta was named to the All-America Second Team, Shannon Kavanagh found herself on the All-America Third Team, while Sydney Pirreca and Lindsey Ronbeck were named All-America Honorable Mention.

This is Trombetta's third honor – during the inaugural vote in 2017, she was tabbed Honorable Mention, while last season she garnered First Team honors.

Ronbeck also picked up her third ILWomen All-America honor, having been on the Third Team in 2018 and Honorable Mention in 2017.

Pirreca earned the second ILWomen All-America honor of her career, earning Honorable Mention All-America honors a season ago.

This is the first ILWomen All-America honor of Kavanagh's career.

The Gators finished the regular season with an overall record of 14-7 and went undefeated in the inaugural season of the American Athletic Conference. The team swept both the regular season conference championship (ninth-straight) and tournament championship (sixth-straight).

This is the third round of ILWomen contributors and members of the lacrosse media who are tasked with choosing the 2019 season's top 12 attackers, nine midfielders, 12 defenders, top three draw specialists and top three goalies. Honorable mention selections are chosen based on players who received multiple votes, but did not accrue the totals of first, second, or third honorees.
