Tuesday, May 7, 2019 | Women's Golf
NORMAN, Okla. – The Florida women's golf team remains in contention after the second day of play at NCAA Regionals.
The Gators strong performance was boosted early with sophomore Elin Esborn's three birdies on her first three holes of the day, which she followed with a string of pars to keep her inside the top 10 at T8. Junior Sierra Brooks birdied four of her first nine holes of the day for an early hot start and is tied for eighth alongside Esborn.
Birdies also kept junior Marta Perez inside the top 10 as well, sitting with Esborn and Brooks at T8 and three-under for the tournament. Sophomore Addie Baggarly made the biggest jump on day two, shooting up 16 spots. She is currently T29 after shooting on par for the day, a two-stroke improvement from round one.
The final round of regional play begins first thing Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. (ET). The Gators tee times will begin at 10:20. The top six teams at the end of regionals will advance to NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas, May 17-22.
