Trey Freeman, Clark Beach, Taylor Ault and Coach Jungbluth will compete in the World University Games
NAPLES, Italy- The University of Florida men's and women's swimming & diving teams will be represented by four Gators during the 30th Summer Universiade of the World University Games at the Scandone Swimming Pool.
Gator swimmers Trey Freeman, Clark Beach and Taylor Ault will all hit the pool for Team USA throughout the swimming portion of the games on July 4-10. Men's associate head coach Stephen Jungbluth will also be traveling to Italy to serve as an assistant coach for the men's Team USA squad.
Freeman will compete in two events, the 200 and 400 free, while Beach and Ault each will each test the waters in one event, the 200 back and the 800 free, respectively.
"We are both excited and proud of Clark and Trey as members of the 2019 WUGS Team", said men's head coach Anthony Nesty. "They are tremendous athletes who have worked diligently last summer to earn a position on this elite team. It is a well-deserved appointment. I look forward to watching these Gators compete and we wish them all the best at the Games."
"It's always a tremendous honor when you have the opportunity to represent your country in some fashion, said women's head coach Jeff Poppell. "Taylor's selection to the United States team that will be competing at this week's World University Games in Naples, Italy is a fantastic accomplishment for her individually as well as the University of Florida."
