GAINESVILLE, Fla. β The No. 11 Florida volleyball team hosts the 2019 Sunshine Showdown on Tuesday night when the No. 23 Florida State Seminoles come to town.
First serve is slated for 6 p.m. on the SEC Network with Missy Whittemore and Tiffany Greene on the call. ESPN Gainesville 98.1 FM/850 AM will air the radio broadcast.
This is the 63rd meeting between the two programs since the inception of Florida's volleyball program in 1984. The Gators hold the 42-20 series record over the Seminoles, including a 24-6 record in Gainesville, Fla.
Both Florida and Florida State come into the match with a 5-2 overall record.
The last time these two in-state rivals faced off was in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament on Nov. 29. Florida swept Florida State in Orlando, Fla., taking the match 25-21, 25-20, 25-13.
Paige Hammons led all Gators with 16 kills on the night, recording a .455 clip. Rachael Kramer and Thayer Hall each pitched in nine kills apiece as well.
Allie Gregory recorded 22 digs in the three-set match, tying her career-best mark.
At the net, Kramer recorded nine blocks, averaging 3.00 per set.
