Gators Lead After Day One

The No. 8 Florida women's golf team is currently in first place after 36 holes at the Glass City Invitational.
TOLEDO, Ohio – The No. 8 Florida women's golf team is in first place after shooting 5 over through the first two rounds of the Glass City Invitational. The Gators currently hold a two-stroke spread between them and the second-place team, Michigan State, heading into the final round.

The course proved challenging through the first 36 holes, ensuring every team in the field finish over par. Despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, the Gators persevered, putting themselves in a solid position heading into tomorrow's final round.

Sierra Brooks led the Gators through day one. After two below par performances, the senior finished at 3 under overall and tied for second on the leaderboard. Brooks is one stroke behind the current leader and only one of four players to finish the first two rounds under par.

Marta Perez finished the day at 1 over overall and tied for sixth individually. Perez recorded a 1 under in the first round and a 2 over in the second round.

Elin Esborn also had a good day on the green, finishing round one at 2 under, and ending the day at 2 over to sit in 10th place on the leaderboard.

Marina Escobar Domingo is currently tied for 23rd as an individual after a 5 over performance.

Clara Manzalini and Addie Baggarly round out the Gators, finishing the day tied for 35th and tied for 52nd, respectively.

The final round of the Glass City Invitational starts tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. ET with coverage on ESPN3 beginning at 12 p.m. ET.
