ESPN’s College GameDay to Emanate from Plaza of the Americas

This will be the Gators’ second appearance on the show this season, marking the first time since 2012 with multiple GameDay appearances.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — ESPN announced on Saturday night that its weekly traveling show College GameDay, Built by The Home Depot (26th season of road shows) will be making its way to Gainesville to broadcast from the site of the top-10, Southeastern Conference contest between the No. 10 Gators and No. 7 Auburn Tigers.
The show on Saturday will emanate from the Plaza of the Americas. The event is FREE and fans of all ages are encouraged to attended. Complete "What to Know" details will be released later in the week.
GameDay will be back in Gainesville for the first time since Oct. 20, 2012, when No. 3 Florida defeated No. 9 South Carolina, 44-11.
College football Saturdays continue this season as they have for more than 30 years with College GameDay, one of the most iconic shows in all of television. Featuring its one-of-a-kind recipe blending entertainment, news, information and analysis, with superb storytelling, the program unfolds weekly in front of an unrivaled atmosphere from 9 a.m. – noon ET. This past May, the program captured its 11th Sports Emmy as a unit and the accolades extended to its commentators: Kirk Herbstreit was honored with the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Studio Analyst across all sports – his third such award for his work on the show (2010, 2011) – and Rece Davis was nominated in the Outstanding Studio Host category. Analysts Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and reporter Maria Taylor join Herbstreit and Davis onsite each week, along with features reporters Jen Lada, Tom Rinaldi and Gene Wojciechowski.
This will be the second time this season the Gators have been featured on ESPN's marquee show after GameDay came to Orlando for their opening weekend 24-20 win against the Miami Hurricanes. Saturday will mark the 40th time Florida has appeared on GameDay, the third highest total in the country. The Gators' 25-14 (.641) record ranks fifth-best in the nation for schools who have played in 10 or more GameDay contests.
This week's matchup between the Gators and Tigers marks their 84th contest and their first game against each other since 2011, with their last game in Gainesville coming in 2007. The Tigers lead the overall series 43-38-2.
