Gators Open Fall Slate at Carpet Capital Collegiate

The Florida men's golf team will begin its 2019-20 season in Dalton, Ga., at the Carpet Capital Collegiate.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Florida men's golf team opens its fall season this week as the Gators head to Dalton, Ga., for the Carpet Capital Collegiate. The event is hosted by Georgia Tech and runs from Friday, Sept. 6 to Sunday, Sept. 8.
Format: The teams will complete 54 holes of stroke play over three days of competition. Each round is set to begin at 8 a.m. ET.
Course Information: The tournament is being played at the Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga. With a Par 72 over 7,012 yards, this is the 31st year the course is hosting the Carpet Capital Collegiate.

Tournament History: Since 1989, the Gators have appeared in the Carpet Capital Collegiate Invitational on 24 separate occasions. This year's appearance will be the fifth season in a row that Florida has made the trip to Dalton, Ga.
Last year, the Gators finished 13th among a talented field. Junior Chris Nido was Florida's top performer, finishing tied for 27th after shooting 3 over.
As a program, the Gators' highest finish came in 1989, where they took first place. Under head coach JC Deacon, the Gators have finished in the top five twice.
Up Next: The Gators travel to Chicago, Ill., for the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational on Friday, Sept. 20.
