NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Florida women's golf team holds a five-stroke lead after 36 holes at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Monday.

Addie Baggarly and Marina Escobar both led the Gators on day one.
With only one bogey and two birdies through the first 18 holes, Baggarly ended round one at 1 under. The junior then carried her steady play into the afternoon as she notched five more birdies for a second-round 71 to end the day at 2-under 143 and in a tie for fifth place.
Similar to Baggarly, Escobar also finished the opening round at 1 under. In her second 18 holes, Escobar recorded four birdies and a clean back nine to put her at 2 under for the round and in a tie for fifth at 3 under overall.
